St Ann's Church
Elin Rees, Solo Organ
2015 – 16 Tuesday series.
After a busy Christmas season we welcome Elin Rees for a rare full-evening concert of organ music. The church is well known for its lunchtime organ recitals but this occasion offers an unusual opportunity to hear some large scale works.
Elin has been a popular visiting organist at the St Ann’s Tuesday lunchtime organ series since completing an organ scholarship here. This evening concert will give an opportunity to hear Elin perform large-scale works for the instrument.
The programmes will include Liszt Fantasy and Fugue on the Chorale “Ad nos, ad salutarem”— very much a highlight of nineteenth-century organ repertory—alongside transcriptions of orchestral and operatic works inc. Saint-Saëns Danse Macabre and Wagner ‘Pilgerchor’ (Pilgrim’s chorus) from Tannhäuser.
Tickets available online (no booking fee) or on the door at the following prices:
Season tickets for the 2015 – 16 season will be available before this concert.
