At the age of 12 he won the Choir Schools’ Association Composition Competition and went on to study at Lancing College as a Walter Stanton Music Scholar, where he was the leader of the Symphony Orchestra and left with numerous prizes including the Music Performance Prize. He also performed as a violinist in the National Children’s Chamber Orchestra.

Seungyoun has studied piano with Adrian West and Mateusz Duda and now studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under the Tutelage of Frank Wibaut. He recently won 3rd Prize in the E-Music Maestro online Piano Competition and 2nd Prize in the GCC Masters of Sonata Competition.

Anastasia Bevan    soprano

Anastasia was awarded a scholarship to study a Postgraduate Masters at the Royal Northern College of Music, 2020-22 and is currently training with Mary Plazas. She was the recipient of the Dame Eva Turner award in 2020 and 2021 and is generously supported by the A&N Kendall award.

She was joint First Prize winner of the Frederic Cox Competition at RNCM and sang the role of ‘Tina’ in Jonathan Dove’s Flight in March 2021, as well as ‘Grasshopper’ and ‘Jay’ in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen for RNCM Opera in December 2020. Anastasia was a finalist in the 2021 Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the singing of Strauss and performed the role of ‘Primadonna’ in the prologue of Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos in December 2021 for RNCM Opera.

Anastasia’s performance history varies from Bach’s Weihnachts-Oratorium at Sydney Opera House for the Choir of London (2018) to soprano solos in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle for Solihull Choral Society (postponed due to Covid, 2020), ‘First Bridesmaid’ in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Cadogan Hall for the Classical Opera Company under Ian Page (2018) as well as soprano solos in the Handel’s Messiah with the Little Orchestra at Porchester Hall and Cecil Sharp House in London (2019).

As well as on the opera stage, Anastasia sings regularly with the Bevan Family Consort, consisting of 16 first cousins, including concerts at the Cheltenham Festival under the baton of John Butt. The Bevan Family Consort are due to make their debut disc with Signum Records in 2022.

Before switching to singing full time in 2018, Anastasia studied Philosophy at the University of East Anglia and was a professional chef for 10 years. She will be singing the role of ‘Countess Almaviva’ for RNCM Opera’s Le Nozze di Figaro in March 2022.
