St Ann’s Choir

The choir of St. Ann’s Church, Manchester (in the city centre) maintains a high standard of choral singing.

The choir rehearses every Friday evening at 7.30pm and sings at services on Sundays: 10.45, Choral Eucharist; 5pm, Choral Evensong.

We are always interested to hear from singers, with a reasonable level of sight-reading ability, from all voice parts: sopranos, altos (contraltos or counter-tenors), tenors and basses.

The repertoire is fairly broad and can be quite challenging (please consult our music list on our website). A good standard of sight-reading ability is required, but this is something you can develop in the choir. See here for typical music lists.

We are always interested to hear from singers from all voice parts: sopranos, altos (contraltos or counter-tenors), tenors and basses.

The choir includes students from the University and RNCM, alongside professional and amateur musicians of varying ages and backgrounds. The choir has a lively and social atmosphere, and we usually go on a tour during August.

Rehearsal Fridays at 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm.  Admission is by audition which will involve some sight reading.
