St Ann’s Services in 2016
Taizé is a village in France which is home to an ecumenical monastic community.
Here Frère Roger, founder of the community, opened his first house during the Second World War.
Today people come to Taizé from all over Europe and further afar to pray, to deepen their relationship with God, and to explore how to live out their faith day by day.
In order for people of different languages and backgrounds to worship together, the community has developed a tradition of sung refrains, which are a vehicle for prayer.
Taizé prayer is offered in St Ann’s as an occasional evening service. In the city centre people are found from all around Manchester and from many different nations. All are welcome.
The next Taize service will take place on Sunday, 19 March at 5pm.
