Welcome to St Ann's - Manchester's City Centre Parish Church St Anns is a member of the Worldwide Anglican Communion

A warm welcome to the website for St Ann's. We are a community of believers in the heart of Manchester. Our church building is right in the very centre of the city and is open every day for worship, prayer or just to have a look around. Most Saturday mornings we also have the St Ann's Café where you can find some of the best home-made cake in the North of England! Come along to meet us - or look through our website for details of what is going on.

Before the 18th century, Manchester had only one church, now the Cathedral. As the town grew, a new one was needed. Funds were provided by Lady Ann Bland and the design, in the fashionable classical style, is thought to be the work of John Barker. St Ann's was consecrated in 1712.

After almost 300 years of unbroken activity, St Ann's is still a place of worship and cultural life in the heart of Manchester. Whether you are a practising Christian, a member of another world faith  or someone seeking a faith for today or tomorrow, we welcome you to our site and trust your visit will be fruitful.

We believe that God, the creator of the universe has come close to us. In Jesus Christ, in his love, peace and forgiveness, God breaks down the barriers between us and one another. We offer worship in the power of his living Spirit and are strengthened to celebrate God's kingdom, to serve one another and to care for our world.
